Ali Ihsan Serbetci was born in 1962 in Gaziantep, Türkiye. After graduating from Hacettepe University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, he completed his Master's and Ph.D. studies at the Institute of Science at Hacettepe University, focusing on the Preparation and Characterization of Polyurethane Membranes for Biomedical Applications.

He began his career as an R&D Specialist at Fako Pharmaceuticals, where he was involved in drug development, licensing, and GMP processes. He later held technical and plant management positions at Organik Kimya and Elif Plastik Ambalaj, leading significant projects in the plastics and chemical industries. Between 2006 and 2008, he served as General Manager at Covidien – Tıbset Sterile Medical Instruments.

Since 2008, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Board at SET Medikal Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş., a leading manufacturer of disposable medical devices in Türkiye. He has played a pioneering role in advancing domestic production, innovation, and sustainability in the medical device and medical plastics sectors.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mr. Serbetci actively contributes to the industry through various management, advisory, and executive board memberships. These include roles at the Istanbul Chamber of Industry Medical Devices Committee, MASSIAD Board of Directors, Bogazici University Life Sciences Technologies Center, and the Specialization Commission for Transformation in the Health Industries.

Mr. Serbetci speaks advanced English, is married, and has two cjildren.
