Prof. Dr. Ozan Sanlı Şentürk

ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

Prof. Dr. Ozan Sanlı Şentürk is a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Istanbul Technical University. He has over 38 years of academic and research experience in inorganic and particularly organometallic chemistry. His research focuses on next-generation homogeneous/heterogeneous catalysts, post-metallocene catalyst design, advanced engineering polyolefin materials, and high-performance thermoplastic feedstocks.

He completed his PhD through a joint program between the University of Reading and Ege University. Following his doctorate, he conducted postdoctoral research for one year at the University College London, Department of Chemistry, and subsequently for three years as a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), specializing in inert-atmosphere techniques, sensitive organometallic synthesis, and advanced spectroscopic characterization.

Prof. Şentürk has led numerous TÜBİTAK and Ministry of Industry research projects and has developed national patents on ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), next-generation TPO/TPE materials, and industrially scalable post-metallocene catalysts.

Throughout his academic career, he has published numerous scientific articles, supervised many MSc and PhD students, and contributed significantly to the development of catalysis and advanced engineering polymer feedstocks in Türkiye, while leading multidisciplinary research teams across various projects.

He plays an active role in advancing sustainable high-performance thermoplastic polymers and green-transition-oriented material technologies in Türkiye and in strengthening academia–industry collaborations.

Prof. Şentürk is also the founder of Biopolycat, a venture focused on the production of bio-based high-performance polymers.
